Positive Ascent's 9th Flight

On Saturday, 9-3-11, I flew Positive Ascent on a Cesaroni M1810 Red Lightning 5 grain motor with the camera bay. The weather was perfect. Clear blue skies and light winds from the west.

It was a perfect launch to 8698.5 feet averaged between the 2 altimeters. The video came out pretty nice, although there is a dust spot in the lens.

Below are some of my favorite screen shots from the video:

Canandaigua Lake

A view of the shock cord at apogee

A view of the group of trees in the middle of the field. It landed about a quarter mile east of them.

I flew without the drogue parachute. This view is looking down the 45 feet of drogue harnessing.

Right after the main charge. Notice the backup charge exiting the forward airframe tube.

A lucky view of the main opening up.
