Fin Stock

I bought the wood for the fins of Destroyerator. One sheet of 3/8" baltic birch that measures 24" by 60" is exactly the right size for all 8 fins. So far 2 of the fins are marked onto the board. Once cut out, they will be used to trace around to draw the rest.

The fins will have a leading edge and trailing edge taper, and will have 2 applications of fiberglass. Once cut out, one layer of fiberglass will be applied to each side of each fin. Then once mounted to the motor mount, another layer will be applied using the tip to tip method. This will add rigidity as well as significantly increase the bond strength to the motor tube.
